Dali’s own Disney Princess

A thousand thank yous to H. Nyazi of Three Pipe Problem for posting this on TwitterDestino, the collaboration between Walt Disney and Salvador Dali makes for a luscious and hypnotic six minutes and forty-seven seconds of viewing.  This also shows Dali’s ability to stay both out there and mainstream at the same time.  Also, this movie acts as a retrospective of Dali’s art and signature style.  A pity that no more output came from this pair.  However, I cannot help but wonder about the man who turns into a baseball player.  I would love to hear the story behind this injection of Americana.

  1. Wow, very interesting! (The video link on your site isn’t pulling up for me, but I found the YouTube link through 3PP’s Twitter feed). I also think it’s interesting to see how the stylization of characters in more recent Disney movies is similar to the animation here. For example, the stylization of Dali’s female figure reminds me quite a bit of the character Meg from Hercules.
