A tiny book, The Guerilla Girls’ Bedside Companion to the History of Western Art acts as a hilarious parody of the typical art history survey book. With humor as a weapon, they pepper the book with facts and new challenges on ideas such as whether or not the “Renaissance Man” represented a progressive person. While they admit that they cannot add more artists to this collection, they do profile women often forgotten. For a women in the arts, reading this book provides a sense of confidence and drive to pursue the arts more.
