Found this on Twitter.  Check out this audio slideshow of women artists who went into traditionally male spaces to record wartime history.  The paintings veer from “Rosie the Riveter” style civilians who work in factories to surreal depictions of the Nuremberg Trial.  Barring the sculpture at the end of the presentation, the women execute artwork with a naturalistic style.  Appropriate, since a lot of these paintings could fit in the genre category.
