Besides his collaboration with H.R. Giger, has anyone seen Badejo’s own artistic output? If you have, what kind of technique did he possess as an artist? Were there any common themes that he used in his body of work? Furthermore, according to multiple sources, such as this very comprehensive article about Badejo and his family, he maintained an art salon in Nigeria.
What was the name of this place and does it still exist?
This is just another post on the internet expressing curiosity about a person who left a huge influence on science fiction.

I actually have seen his work. And I see it regularly in a surreal way. I became friends with a neighbor after her husband died. She had grown up in a missionary family that spent many years in Nigeria. Her and her brother had become good friends with Badejo. He gave her 3 pastel on black paper (roughly 18×24) portraits. One of his sister I believe. Vibrant colors, lots of depth. These used the complimentary color swap technique but were otherwise realistic in form. He was not lacking in skill. For the record I have a BFA. When she told me this story, she ended it with “I still have them, would you like to see”. I about came out of my skin. They were just loose in a stack of memorabilia.
She had them archivally matted and framed at my urging. I also discouraged her from posting any images of them as they are unknown art that would fit into niches of any number of collector groups. She has gobs of ancillary items to validate authenticity.
Any hints on how to safely have them appraised would be appreciated. I will gladly pass it on.
