The Alhambra in “Fatima’s Love”

Moorish Literature

Currently, I am reading this public domain book titled “Moorish Literature”.  If you wish to read this, I must warn you:  Casual sexism ahead.

Cautions aside, let me go ahead to my main point.  After reading the preface (a bit of a slog), the book begins with a section dedicated to “Moorish Ballads”.  Poetry featuring stories that mention the Alhambra castle.  From what I am reading so far,  the ballads use this famed building as a way to show that the characters come from wealthy and noble standing.

Of course.
