Music for Mark Rothko by Max Ridgway

Found this via Tumblr

The song acts as a contrasting counterpart to Rothko’s work.  While the painter created this sense of quiet atmosphere (in my opinion) Ridgway creates a chaotic composition with the synth guitar and Randall Colbourne’s jazzy drumming that fills in Rothko’s colorful blank spaces.  Then again, Rothko’s spaces leaves a lot for people to add interpretations.  For me, I sometimes see just shapes, windows, or a landscape broken down to just a sky and the ground.

ETA: I’m not the only one who saw windows in Rothko’s art.
