After Istanbul was conquered by The Ottoman Empire in 1453, a lot of Mosques are build. Some of them are known all over the world, like the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia (now a musuem). The Ottomans had a architecture style on its own. This typical Ottoman architecture can be seen on the Mosques. Some of the Mosques in Istanbul are for at least 10.000 people. The biggest Mosque in Istanbul is the Suleymaniye Mosque. The oldest Mosque is the ”Arap Camii” in Karakoy district, builded around 700. After a Church and a Mosque again. I don’t have pictures from all those Mosques, but some of them. Enjoy!
