Through the Eyaawing Cultural Center

Official Website

First and foremost, I admit I had put this off for a while, so I do not remember much.

While in Michigan, I visited the Eyaawing Cultural Center in Peshawbestown.  A simple one story layout, the place contained artefacts and art created by members of various nations local to the state.  Fashion, quilts, canoes, and weapons lay out in an almost circular organization.  However, out of everything featured, I enjoyed the basket weaving exhibit the most.  The spiky design of the baskets and the use of porcupine needles fascinated me to no end.  When I went to another museum in another Michigan town, I saw baskets that had the same design.  It intrigued me that basket weaving can go beyond the typical streamlined design.
